研究简介:

Yang Xiaodong is a buddhologist and art historian, and assistant professor in the Department of History (Zhuhai) at Sun Yat-sen University. While he works primarily in the areas of Sinitic Buddhism, his scholarly interests are broad, encompassing the pan-Buddhist world in its entirety. More specifically, his recent research has focused on the surviving Buddhist monuments in the Sichuan basin—particularly those concerning the cult of Liu Benzun 柳本尊, and quite by serendipity, he becomes increasingly curious about the question of terminology in the translation and transformation of Buddhist technical terms.

Besides being fluent in Chinese and English, he speaks Japanese and, occasionally, reads Buddhist Hybrid Sanskrit and Classical Tibetan in their original forms.
